I like sayings of any variety. I am one of those people who gravitate to the aisles, shelves, stands and bookshops that display and market sayings or clever words that just make sense. I stop and make a point to read them off fridge magnets, ice-cream sticks, shop windows, bumper stickers and T-shirts. They are sometimes funny, but more often so relevant and true.
A saying is a short, concise expression that generally contains advice or wisdom. To me it is a bunch of words that resonates; a collection of words that is obvious, but not obvious enough until I read it. Then I have my ‘aha’ moment.
I am not always sure of the origins and/or names of the people whose sayings I have listed below as there are some conflicting sources on the net. That said, it is a perennial pleasure to read, savor and enjoy these clever words written by some very observant and sensible people.

Don't Take Anything Personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering - Don Miguel Ruiz (This is true. We sometimes give too much importance to what others think and say about us)
